About Brighter Horizons

Brighter Horizons is a Danish-Sierra Leonean non-profit organization with a mission to help the most vulnerable members of society in Sierra Leone. Our focus is on providing relief to vulnerable children and disabled people in Sierra Leone, and on raising awareness about the pressing issues these groups face.

The organization was founded in 2017 by Erik Rasmussen and Zora Saskova. Nevertheless and the Inclusion for All projects have been running since 2012.

Our Objectives Are

  • To provide basic life necessities such as housing, food, healthcare, and education to the most vulnerable members of local communities in Freetown.
  • To improve women’s status in Sierra Leonean communities.
  • To work for better status and opportunities for disabled people.
  • To support especially talented children from difficult conditions through education and information.
  • To help young women and children leave the sex trade in Freetown and support them as they begin a new life.
  • To assist amputees and disabled people in Freetown in order to create more inclusive communities.
  • To increase public awareness of the needs and issues of marginalized groups.
  • To bring love and security into the lives of the particularly vulnerable.
